a beach find … about 5 inches long and 4 inches wide .. and 1 1/4 inches thick… anyone know what it is … we don't have a good shell book on board ..

February 1 - 2, 2015
The wind was howling from the north, then east and now south … it seems to be a regular occurrence this time of the year in Abaco
Our anchor is for sure well screwed in.
Yesterday we walked the beach with SnowBird and got some star fish, sand dollars and a few shells.
I'm feeling a bit better with this cold and Joe is feeling much better. So maybe it is the sea salty air we are both breathing in.
We had SnowBird over for Rum Cake and Brownies for our "Its 5 o'clock somewhere"
Some boats at anchor and mooring balls moved into the marina for a free night at the dock for the Super Bowl Game. Just $7 was charged for water. Modaki and Snow Bird held firm and stayed out.
Today Feb. 2, we had planned to head to Marsh Harbour, but the head winds changed our minds. So Joe and I headed to the leeward beach for a swim.
When we returned about 10 more boats had arrived. We now have 15 at anchor and 7 mooring balls, and 8 or 9 are Canadian boats.
I did a boat laundry and Joe cleaned the 1" green hair off Modaki … the next time we haul we will make a new water line, about 3-4 inches higher and antifouling to this.
Thanks for the info from family and friends, the fish I caught was a Bar Fish. Tomorrow I will troll once again and see what I can catch.

We motored out of the harbour at 8:30 am and raised a reefed main and full head sail, doing 5 - 5.5 knots … with my fishing line a stern … by the end of the 3 hour sail, the only thing I caught was sea grass ..we changed course and shook out the reef and now making 5.7 - 6 knots. A good sail.
Lowering the sails out side the entrance to Marsh Harbour was a bit turbulent, but once inside it settled a bit, but by night the wind once again was howling and we produced more power that what we could ever use.
Alderaan and Sanderling where here, but left the next day. Persuasian, Mike and Mary Ellen, dropped by the boat, the last time we saw them was our first attempt to cross the Gulf Stream.
Snow Bird came in to the harbour and we soon went to shore to scout out a new fuel tank. To make a long story short, we made the arrangements to have a new tank fabricated, and it was to be made in one day. We moved Modaki to Mango Marina and a dock, we didn't want to be at anchor with no motor.
Feb. 4, 2015
Once we got the tank out, and drained the diesel, it looked okay inside. Terry Ferenczy, CLARITY, from our yacht club in Owen Sound, agreed with us that we did not need a new tank. We called the fabricator and cancelled our appointment for the next day, we spend about 5 hours taking the tank out and cleaning the inside with diesel, all thru a 1 1/2 inch hole. Thursday morning we attached the fittings, bled the system and the engine started the first time. We ran it for a while and all is good.
The rain stopped and so did the wind , we went for a short walk to check out some gift shops. Bought a nice card for Joe's Mom …
Snow Bird, and Clarity moved anchoring spots, getting ready to tomorrow's blow from the North … Modaki is staying put … having a spa boat day, tomorrow we will wash her decks with fresh water, and fill tanks ($5.00) … we did laundry, ($7.00 wash and dry), showers are free … this is a really nice marina, small and so friendly … there is a hammock waiting for me to lie in tomorrow
