July 21, 2013 --- sea glass and Guy Lafleur

we had high winds again last night but not like the night before, now the wind is from the north, and rollers coming into the sea glass beach ... Joe and I did some collecting first thing in the morning, then Joe stayed back on the boat checking oil, filling diesel in tank from the cans.  I did some laundry and continued to sea glass collecting between wash and drying.

this part of our collection

we will learn a lot from the Sea Glass Festival that we are attending back in Souris PEI, in a few days

this one piece at the bottom is a true black piece, some of the other is pottery, from the 400 ship wrecks in the area !!!

okay Guy Lafleur, stopped and talked again to Joe, because we both are leaving in the morning for
Souris, we will take 14 hours and Guy 5 hours ... our friends Dave and Jess, just happen to be aboard for lunch, and Jess, just happened to have her Uncles book of Guy's Biography, and it just happened that Guy was happy to write in the front of his book a message in French to Jess's Uncle.

Joe and I have witnessed today, at least 300 plus people on our dock, coming to see Guy ...  he stopped again to talk to us and we mentioned the amount of people coming to see him, and we mentioned  we admire his patience, with this interruption while he is on holidays ... Guy said " I was born this way", He truly is a gentle, patient, understanding man. And was a fantastic hockey player !!!!!

at 3pm the yacht club was a rocking for 4 hours, and it was packed full, weather sunny and windy, but no rain !!

who is this person, butting in on my picture of great musicians????  oh Jess, ha ha

this is how you see sea glass, this one was on the surface, sometimes you only see a bit showing

Joe and I went out again at low tide and collected some more, ha ha

band still playing, mostly french, some english, country and middle of the road, it was loud enough we
heard it from our boat

thanks Jess and Dave for the Sugar Pie, and lunch, smoked herring, pate, bread, cheese and your friendship ...
