July 16, 2013 - getting ready to cross to the " Maggies " part one

it was so hot yesterday, I couldn't stand to heat the water to wash the dishes, cold water washes just as good !!!

Joe and I sea glass collecting, there was lots on this small beach.

and lots of seaweed salad too !!!

this is what we found today, note the blue one in the middle, also a clear piece with wire in bedded  in it, and pieces of pottery

crab pots stored for the off season

the ferry getting ready to leave for the Maggies ...

loved the name of the boat

all the sheds closed for the season

this reminded us of Pointe Sapin, New Brunswick

look at all those anodes, 4 more on the other side too.

Modaki and Kianda (Dave and Jess), we are both leaving at 4am tomorrow for Iles-de -la-Madeleine.
They lent us their car to provision for the next leg of our trip. We really needed to get the propane tank filled, plus groceries, and maybe beer too !!!

Joe and I walked a short distance to the lighthouse and art gallery

there is a display of how sea glass is made, from bottles, to shards, to getting smooth and rounded to the collectible  sea glass

also a display of the article that the sea glass comes from, all the collectible colours are here, we saw a small piece of red that is worth $80.00

pottery is also part of sea glass collections

and marbles too

I climbed to the 4th floor of the lighthouse, and had quite a view all round

the site of the Sea Glass Festival, that we will be back for, the end of the month !!!
